Peter Iltis

PETER ILTIS, 69, OF POTTSTOWN Peter Iltis, 69, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Monday, February 02, 2015 at Manor Care, Pottstown, PA. Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, he was a son of Peter C. Iltis and Jean (Hallman) Iltis of Englewood, FL. He was a Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1964 -68 and continued his military career in the U.S. Navy reserves, completing over 20 years of service. Peter held many jobs over the years and was most recently employed for over 13 years by North Montgomery County Technical Career Center, Lansdale, PA in their maintenance department, retiring in 2014. An outdoorsman and sportsman, he was an avid hunter, camper and freshwater fisherman. Over the years, he was dedicated to caring for and spending time with his Rough Collies. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Stewart and her companion Robert Kent of Pottstown, PA; four grandchildren, Mia Catania, Christian Hernandez, Justin Stewart and Alixander Stewart; one brother, Stephen Iltis and his wife Lisa of Sarasota, FL, and one sister, Dorothy Cooper of Phoenixville, PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was formerly married to Linda Nettles Iltis. Peter was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Iltis. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, PA. Rev. Dr. Donald B. Eisenhauer will officiate. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at the funeral home.
