Richard L. Kirlin Jr.

1935 - 2021

Richard “Dick” L. Kirlin Jr., 85, passed away on July 10, 2021, at his home in Pottstown, PA, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Marian J. (Kennard) Kirlin, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Born in Pottstown, PA, on September 7, 1935, Richard was the son of the late Richard L. Kirlin Sr., and Thelma (Razor) Kirlin. Dick served in the United States Army and then began his career working as an electrician for multiple companies: Firestone, The Franklin Mint, and ultimately retired from GlaxoSmithKline. He was a longtime and faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Douglassville, Masonic Lodge #741 in Boyertown, and Rajah Shrine in Reading. Dick enjoyed hunting and golfing. In addition to his wife, Dick is lovingly remembered by his children, Mark (& Theresa) Kirlin and Sandy (& Joseph) Andre; his sister, Maryann Sheetz; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Dick is predeceased by his stepson, Michael Embody; and his sisters, Fern Harner and Barbara Bongarzone. Visitation will take place on July 17, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Houck & Gofus Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A Life Celebration will follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place after the service at Mount Zion Cemetery.
