Poughkeepsie - Barbara J. Anson, 68, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on December 2, 2018 at Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center in Highland, NY. She was born on August 4, 1950 in Rockville Center, NY, the daughter of Fred C. & Dorothy Halbran Anson.
Barbara was employed as a Paralegal for Pryor & Mandelup, LLP in Westbury, NY. She was a volunteer for animal rescues and a lover of animals. A loving daughter, sister, aunt to her family. Barbara loved children and was devoted to her dog Max.
Survivors include her sisters: Patricia (Laszlo) Toth of Poughkeepsie, NY; Mary (Tom) Kaufman of Aiken, SC; Catherine Britt of Merrick, NY and Dorothy (Jimmie) Bowes of Aiken, SC. There are nieces: Erin, Christy, Valerie and nephews: Daniel, John, Eric, Thomas and Laszlo. There are several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2018, 8:45AM-9:45AM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass Of Christian Burial will follow at 10:15 AM at St. Marin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
