Poughkeepsie - Frances D. "Chic" Bowder, 85, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on March 26, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 5, 1936 in White Plains, New York to the late Joseph and the late Nina (Fallanca) Primerano.
Chic was a local resident for over 26 years previously from White Plains
Chic was a retired Account Supervisor for Down State Correctional Facility and after retirement worked at Locust Grove running the gift shop. Chic was a member of Holy Trinity Church, she loved reading knitting and crocheting.
Chic was the wife of Howard J. Bowder, they were married on July 21, 1984 at St. John's Lutheran Church in White Plains, New York.
Survivors include her husband Howard Bowder of Poughkeepsie New York, son and daughter in-law Joseph and Sheryl Shea of Pennsylvania, daughter and son in-law Patricia and James Clark of Stormville New York, son and daughter in-law Christopher and Rosemary Shea of Wingdale, New York, daughter and son in-law Cynthia and Mark Snyder of Pleasant Valley, New York, 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Chic was predeceased by her sisters and brother Katherine Pacensa, Nancy Strickland and Joseph Primerano.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY.
Funeral Service will be held April 1, 2021 at 10:30 AM from Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY.
Interment will take place in St. Peters Cemetery, Poughkeepsie, NY.
