Francis W. Conboy

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Francis W. Conboy, 65, a resident of Wappingers Falls for 21 years and formerly of Pelham, died on Monday, June 20, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx on September 27, 1945, he was the son of Francis and Jane Moran Conboy, of County Leitrim, Ireland. Frank proudly served in the U. S. Army, 1st Cavalry in the Vietnam war. He was employed as a locksmith for Metro North Commuter Railroad for 26 years until his retirement in 2009. Frank was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, a member of the American Legion in Manhattan, the Lloyd Rod & Gun Club in Highland and past president of LL226 of the IAMAW. He was pro-life, pro-gun, pro-union and pro-Constitution. For the past 32 years, he was a friend of Bill W. On St. Patrick's Day in 1984 at St. Catharine's Church in Pelham, Francis married Linda Wren who survives at home. He is also survived by his beloved children, Ryan Francis and Kerry Marie Conboy of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Jean Murray and her husband Lawrence of Carmel; 12 nieces and nephews and 23 great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
