Francis Parajon Obituary
Bluffton, South Carolina Formely Poughkeepsie, NY - Francis Robert "Bob" Parajon, age 82, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Poughkeepsie, NY and Raleigh, NC died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at NHC-Bluffton.
Mr. Parajon was born on November 5, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Francis Robert and Ann Parajon. He was a 1956 graduate of Holy Cross College and was awarded a certification through Harvard University School of Management. Following his formal education he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant. After his military tenure he began his career with IBM, retiring after 30 years of service as the Director of Education Center. He was the first president of one of the largest youth programs in Dutchess County, NY, the CYO Basketball Program. In 1975 he was presented the Hilda Foster Memorial Award for his work with the youth of Dutchess County. Outside of work and civic involvement Bob was an avid golfer and basketball enthusiast.
Mr. Parajon was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Banks. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret "Margie" Parajon; sons, Dr. Robert Parajon (Laureen) and James Parajon (Elizabeth); daughter, Susan Noll (William); grandchildren, Kyleen Depew (Chase), Robert Parajon, Eric Parajon, Stephanie Parajon, Haley Noll, Megan Noll, and Charlie Noll; and great-grandson, Roland Robert Depew.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 10, 2017 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Drive, Bluffton, SC 29909.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Tidewater Hospice, Tidewater Foundation, 10 Buckingham Plantation Drive, Suite A, Bluffton, SC 29910 or any charity of choice. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family. www.saulsfh.com

Prayers for the Parajon family. Your Dad helped improve local CYO basketball programs. He was a tough competitor. George Gaffney carried on at St. Martin's after your Dad. Dr. Parajon, your Dad was a leader.

Mr. P was one of a kind and a fine friend to my parents for many years. Whether singing a modified version of the Holy Cross fight song, extolling the exquisite wonderfulness of the duke basketball program or cordially calling me a "ham and egger" on the basketball court, he always made us smile. He had a life well-lived and will be missed.

Bob was a great, loyal friend. He loved his family, basketball and singing Irish songs. He was devoted to his wonderful wife, Margie, and he was never hesitant to voice his opinions.
