George Elliot Obituary
Weathersfield, VT - George Perry Elliott of Weathersfield, VT, died on August 27, 2012. Born in Sharon, CT on March 24, 1931 to William and Helen Elliott, he had two siblings, William and Jane who predeceased him.
George spent the first part of his life in Dover Plains, NY where he was a Town Constable and a lifetime member of the JH Ketcham Hose Company Fire Police. George graduated from the New York School for the Deaf in 1951 and worked at IBM Poughkeepsie for over 35 years.
Married to Janet Churchill from 1956 to 1981, they raised four children who survive him: Lillian Miller of Chester, VT; Amy Elliott of Millbrook, NY; George Elliott of Pawling, NY and Emily Harf of Kent, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren, a nephew and many friends.
Upon retirement he settled with his companion, Ann Crawford, in Vermont where they loved the people, the scenery and the friendly lifestyle. They shared an affection for black labs, trips to Maine and walks in the fields and woods. George enjoyed fishing, model trains, gun collecting and socializing with friends. His interest in guns and fishing yielded him a life member of the Chester Rod and Gun Club. He was remarkably talented, had a sense of humor and an ease of talking with others. He was and will remain an inspiration to his children and grandchildren.

Amy, George, Emily and Lillian, We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle George although we did not see him in recent years, I always felt a closeness to him. May it have been he was a compasionate person with a love for the things I find my self loving more and more every year. May he rest in peace. Thank you for being in my life Uncle.
