Ivan Dolgov Obituary
Durham, NC - Ivan Dolgov, age 78, of Durham died peacefully with his wife by his side, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Hock Family Pavilion.
Ivan was born in Russia and came to the United States of America in 1950. He attended CCNY and NYU for studies in Electrical Engineering. His career started at Kollsman Instruments in Long Island NY, working on products for space exploration for the US Apollo missions, followed by a 25yr career at IBM, East Fishkill NY focused in microelectronic chip fabrication, and finally a 15yr career in the air quality test laboratories at the US EPA Office of Research and Development in Research Triangle Park, NC. Ivan was a member and alderman at the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Mebane NC.
Ivan is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lydia Serafima Dolgov; his son, Dimitri Dolgov and wife, Anna Marie of Poughkeepsie, NY; his daughters, Vera Groblewski and husband, Peter of Depew, NY; Elizabeth Dolgov of Durham; his brother's -in-law, Boris Solnzeff and wife, Phyllis of Bloomington, IN and Henry Steger of Middletown, CT; his grandchildren, Dimitri Dolgov, Jr., Michael Dolgov, Anna Claire Dolgov, and Jennifer Groblewski.
Friends are invited to visit from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, August 10, 2015 at Hall-Wynne Funeral Service. A panihida service will begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Mebane with Fr. Gabriel officiating. Burial will be at the Holy Trinity Monastery Cemetery in Jordanville, NY. Online condolences: www.hallwynne.com, select obituaries.
