Jake Carston Obituary
Red Hook - Jake Carston, Sr., 78, of Red Hook, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his home.
Born on May 30, 1937, in Plant City, FL, he was the son of the late David and Ella Mae (Brown) Carston. Jake married Emma Jean Chapman on June 25, 1965 in Kingston, NY and she survives at home in Red Hook.
For many years and until his retirement, Jake worked was a supervisor at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. Previously he worked at Orchard Hill Farms in Red Hook.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children; Debbie Gelinas and her husband Brian of Red Hook, Tina Carston of Red Hook, Charlene Carston and her husband Clarence Edward Miller III of Kingston, Mariane Carston of Florida, Charles Lee Carston of Florida, and Jake Carston, Jr of Poughkeepsie, his grandchildren; Marissa Carston, Mikaylah Carsten-Miller, and Jazzmyn Carsten-Miller, along with numerous extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be private. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Crematory, Kingston.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY.
