James Hart Obituary
Staatsburg - James Joseph Hart, affectionately known as "Jimmy", 60, of Staatsburg, died at home on Friday, January 5, 2018.
Born on July 25, 1957 in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas G. Hart, Sr. and Alice T. (Walsh) Hart. He was a 1975 graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.
He worked at the Hudson River Psychiatric Center for over thirty years until his retirement.
Jimmy was a former volunteer with the West Clinton Fire Dept., member of the Exempt Firemen's Assoc., Poughkeepsie, and member of the Sons of the American Legion of John Livingstone American Legion Post #1466, Poughkeepsie.
On November 25, 1978 at Regina Coeli Church, Hyde Park, he married the former Lynda Shepherd. She survives in Hudson Falls, NY.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Bryan Hart and fiancé Kristin, of Hyde Park; daughter, Michelle Hart Pedone, of Hudson Falls; daughter, Karyn Hart, of Hudson Falls; grandchildren, Shane Hart of Hyde Park, Eric Merritt of Hyde Park and Ayden Pedone of Hudson Falls, NY; three brothers: Tom Hart, Jr. of Hyde Park, Jack Hart and wife, Marisa, of Garner, NC, and Joe Hart and fiancé, Robin, of New Fairfield, CT; and nieces and nephews, Lisa and Danny Hart of North Carolina, and Sean, Kelly, and Theresa Hart of Connecticut.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8pm on Thursday, January 18th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park. The Exempt Firemen's Association will be conducting services at 7:30pm during the calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, January 19th at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 185 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie.
Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy's family respectfully requests memorial donations to the Exempt Firemen's Assoc., 200 Mansion Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (www.exempts.org).
