Jerry Greenberg

POUGHKEEPSIE - Jerry Greenberg, 81, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on December 12, 2016 at V.A.M.C. Castle Point, NY. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 4, 1935, the son of David and Bella Marcus Greenberg.

Jerry married Vicki Belfus on September 1, 1959 in Miami Beach, Florida. She survives at home. He was employed by IBM at their Poughkeepsie, NY location as Sr. Engineer.

Jerry was a member of Temple Beth-El in Poughkeepsie, the Poughkeepsie South Rotary Club and the Harding Club.

He was loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved photography, fixing computers and enjoyed cooking. As his family said, "Jerry could absolutely fix anything".

Survivors include his son: Leonard(Barbara) Greenburg of Hopewell Jct., NY; his twin sister: Anita Mitchell of Indianapolis, Indiana and his grandchildren: David & Jennifer.

Graveside Services will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 12:30PM in Temple Beth-El Cemetery, 1239 Dutchess Turnpike, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Rabbi Daniel Victor will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Temple Beth-El, 118 So. Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wm. G. Dear Vicki, My sympathies to you. As I well know losing a spouse after over 50 years together is not easy.
You may not remember me but we worked together shortly after you joined IBM. I well remember attending a birthday party for Jerry at your house. (40?, 50?)

Vicki, I have fond memories from the IBM days, decades of great emails from Jerry, to most recent times seeing you both again, enjoying our Hudson Valley Bluegrass Association's concerts and getting to schmooze with you again in person. My prayers and condolences for your loss and wish you some eventual peace that now surrounds Jerry.
