Washingtonville - Kenneth J. Morrow of Washingtonville, NY entered into rest with his family by his side on
August 21, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 97 years old. Kenneth was born in
Brooklyn, NY on August 1, 1916 to Curtis G. and Mary A. (McCauley) Morrow.
Kenneth was a Sales Rep. with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
He is survived by his loving children, Andrew C. and his wife Glenda Morrow of Newburgh, NY and Monica Morrow of Washingtonville, NY; grandchildren, Amanda Thompson of Newburgh, NY and Natalie and her husband Brian Ackerman of Red Hook, NY; great-grandchildren, Carter Thompson and Madison Ackerman; stepchildren, Catherine and her husband Frank Drewniak, Dorthea and her husband Robert Hallihan and Margaret and her husband Robert Loiselle all of Chicopee, MA; sister in law Anne Morrow. Kenneth was predeceased by his former wives, Veronica Sacias, Helen O'Neill and Estelle Roback also pre deceased by his brothers Joseph and John Morrow. Kenneth was WWII Marine Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 1948 of Washingtonville, NY, a parishioner and former usher of St. Mary's Church in Washingtonville, Former President of Holy Name Society and former member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, 20 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992. A Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Rev. Jeffrey Maurer and Rev. John Vondras on Saturday, August 24, 10AM at St. Mary's Church in Washingtonville, NY. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Washingtonville. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Kenneth's name to: Blooming Grove Ambulance Corp, 7 North St., Washingtonville, NY 10992, Blooming Grove Humane Society, 2741 Rte 94, Washingtonville, NY 10992 or F.I.S.H. of Blooming Grove, PO Box 202, Washingtonville, NY 10992. Abe Lincoln once said, It's not the amount of years you get in life it's the amount of life you put into those years. First time I heard this I thought of Ken. He seemed to live each day with kindness and hope. Today, we celebrated the life of Ken. An honest, friendly, pleasant man-the nicest person I've ever had the honor to know. I met Ken in 1972 and for the past 39 years he has been my Father-In-law. I never heard him speak poorly of someone, or even raise his voice. I loved listening to his stories of the 30's, 40's, and 50's. He would tell the corniest jokes, laugh at himself and of couse, one would have to laugh with him.

Ken's business visits to my parent's house were always so welcomed. He was intelligent, professional, helpful, kind, and friendly. He was such a valuable part of our community. A great neighbor, he wove a wonderful social thread throughout our village. What a great guy!
