Laszlo Galambos Obituary
Hyde Park - Laszlo Galambos, 88, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born in Hungary on September 2, 1926, he was the son of Joseph and Caroline Holosi Galambos. On January 24, 1954 he married the love of his life Marion Cookingham at the Hungarian Reformed Church in Poughkeepsie, NY, she survives at home. Laszlo worked for NY Trap Rock in Poughkeepsie, NY as a well driller, retiring in 1989 and he was a past president of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. Also surviving are his daughters Susan Ruqus and her husband Allen of Wappingers Falls, NY; Kathleen Galambos of Wappingers Falls, NY; son Laszlo J. Galambos and his wife Irene of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Caroline Fulop of Hungary; five grandchildren- Jesse, Joseph, Jennifer and husband Matt, Robert and wife Jessica, Michelle and husband Jim; and three great-grandchildren- Brody, Isaac, and Cecilia. With family being his main focus, Laszlo will always be remembered by his family as a loving husband, father, "Papa" and a friend to everyone. Calling hours will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015 from 10:00-11:00am and a service will follow visitation in the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wm G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
