Poughkeepsie, New York - Martin A. Quick, 65, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at home. Born in Poughkeepsie on December 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Irving and the late Martha Pettit Quick. Martin was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion #1302. He worked as a carpenter for Marist College for 27 years retiring in 2016. On August 28, 1992 he married Margaret "Peggie" Garren in Long Beach, CA and she survives him at home. Martin enjoyed Harleys, Boating and Fishing. In addition to his wife, Peggie, Martin is survived by his brother and wife, William and Sandy Quick of Hopewell Jct., NY and his sister and husband, Ruth and Tom Pasquazi of Pine Bush, NY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Arlene Ventresca and his brother in-law Ron Ventresca. Calling hours will be held on Monday January 21, 2019 from 10am to 11:30am at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Funeral Service will be held 11:30am during the calling hours in the Funeral Home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the Family.
