Pittsfield, MA - Mr. Michael J. Thurston, 63, of Providence Court, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, December 1, 1952, the son of the late John & Helen Crose Thurston, and brother of his late sister Gloria Whitmarsh and late brother in law John H. Whitmarsh. Michael attended the local schools there graduating from Poughkeepsie High School. He was also a golf enthusiast who worked and played at College Hill Golf Course. For many years, Mr. Thurston was employed at IBM in Poughkeepsie NY. He then later moved to the Pittsfield MA area.
He is survived by his brother, Richard Thurston and his wife Darla and their son and his nephew Richard of Port Ewen NY. Also his nephew Brian Whitmarsh and his wife Alysia and their son Aidan of Saugerties NY, as well as his friends in Pittsfield MA.
