Michael Vitale Obituary
Poughkeepsie - Michael J. Vitale, 80 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Michael was born on August 9, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph and Frances Bressi Vitale.
He married the former Joan K. Blake on October 1, 1960 in Iowa and survives at home.
Michael proudly served our country in the United States Navy. After service, he was employed at IBM Poughkeepsie as a Programmer Manager. After his retirement there, Michael worked for Toyota and McCann Golf Course. He was a member of the Italian Center and the Marist Red Fox Club. Michael was a coach and manager of the Town of Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls Little League, the Dutchess County Hall of Fame, he enjoyed teaching and coaching youth baseball and was an avid Yankees and sports fan.
In addition to his wife Joan, Michael is survived by his sons Scott M. Vitale and Karen Pelton and Brian J. Vitale and Christel Mojica both of Poughkeepsie, NY, daughter Pam J. Baker and Matt of Hyde Park, NY. grandchildren, Rachel Vitale, Emily and Ben Baker, great grandchild Aubriella, sister MaryAnn Cloos, brothers Nicholas and Steve Vitale as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church, 775 Main Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Calvary Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY.
