Michael Weir Obituary
Glenham - Michael Weir, 51 years old, died suddenly on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh. He was born June 30, 1960 in Yonkers, NY and was the son of Carolyn Zaskey Rogers of Lake Placid, FL and Albert Weir of Glenham, NY.
Michael was employed as a mechanical designer, working for various local companies. He loved the outdoors, loved all animals and was an avid Yankee fan. He also enjoyed biking, hiking and walking through the Hudson Valley.
Besides his parents, Michael is survived by his step-mother, Cathy Weir, his sisters, Laura Weir and her companion, Joe Hanley, of Clinton Corners and Diane Jacobsen and her husband, Jake, of Stone Ridge; two step-brothers, Tom and Tim Rostar; his aunts and uncles, Elaine and Frank Walsh and Fran and Jim Rostar; nephew, Erik Jacobsen and nieces, Kristen and Kara Jacobsen, Michelle Zegle, Heather Hanley and Taylor and Alexa Walker. He was predeceased by his sister, Kathy Walker.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main St., Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 7th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, Fishkill, followed by burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dutchess County ASPCA, 636 Violet Ave., Hyde Park, NY 12538 in Michael's memory.
