To the Liu family,
My deepest sympathies. I had the pleasure of working with Nina for a few years at IBM Poughkeepsie. She was often very generous with bringing in and sharing various treats with her extended work family. I was amazed with some of the stories she told us about her life and wondered why such an educated and sophisticated woman was working with us, but Im glad she did!
Im so sorry for your loss, may she Rest In Peace.

We will have fond memories of Nina and The Liu family since a child.
When my late father relocated to Poughkeepsie, NY from IBM Endicott, NY they have been close friends with the Chao and Sheen family (God parents).
I am sorry for the loss!

I just got back in my residence this evening aftre some errands and getting groceries and I was surprised and caught off guard unexpectedly when looking up something on the internet. I found out!
Uncle Matty was always a favorite and life long friend of my late father: Mr. Chester Chih-Kung Chao. I can remember the days when we were all little we played and we went to picnics of the Mid Hudson Chinese Community. I remembered the days, my family came over to your house on Daisy Lane by the Dutchess County Airport and the house on Martin Drive in Arlington School District.
I certainly can remember Auntie Nina's delicious cooking when she and Liu Family hosted parties at their house. I certainly can remember Nina was also a very good enforcer of good behavior, conduct, and manners ! This is indeed.
I saw pictures of her travel and she knew some foreign languages. As a Graduate of SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY majoring in in Geography in 1992, I can appreciate that !
I remembered I was home from college one summer in 1989, shortly before returning for the start of Football season and school: I was working at Edward's Food Warehouse. I saw Auntie Nina. She was telling me that Gregory was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the US AIR FORCE. I was proud as ever!
Auntie Nina was a nice person to talk to on the phone, especially during the months when my late father was in the hospital before he died from trauma suffered in a car accident in 2006. Uncle Matty and Uncle James Tuan were nice to travel to Rockland County ; to go see my father at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Also she and Uncle Mathew came to the funeral mass at St Martins De Porres Church and Burial for my late Mom: Pauline Chen Chao when she passed away from cancer. Auntie Nina, your presense and support is tremendously appreciated. I will never forget that back in 2002. I didn't realize myself as others saw me, until I saw the pictures taken during the funeral service. My eyes were puffy in the verge of tears. Auntie Nina came up to me with Uncle Mathew:" George, I am sorry for your loss!"
I can certainly remember when little; Auntie Nina telling my mother talking in Mandarin Chinese that Dental Surgery is certainly no fun! Both ladies agreed it is a painful procedure!
Liu family I am sorry for your loss! Gregory, I know you now have a career with Federal Law Enforcement.
You still served as a Military Officer. When I was a liitle boy, I would cry and cry over death ! .Well I am certain on a bright nice sunny day, the tears in your eyes and mine will turn dry while taking a walk, standing at attention , and we can momentarily break the military bearing and smile as we all reflect and remember the happy and fond memories and the legacy of Auntie Nina !

Although I did not know Nina Liu, I knew of her from her loving daughter and my friend, Natalie Condon. My impressions are of a strong and determined woman with many talents and a big heart. I am saddened for her family who obviously loved and cherished her dearly but thankful that she no longer suffers. Rest in peace, Nina. My sympathies to the entire family.
