Peter J. Bergin

HIGHLAND - Peter J. Bergin, 76, of Highland and former resident of Walden, NY passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2011 at the Hudson Valley Rehabilitation Center in Highland.

Born in Greenwich, NY on Feb. 26, 1935, he was the son of Michael and Helen Burgess Bergin.

He was employed as a School Teacher.

He was married to Janice Bergin, who predeceased him.

He is survived by one son- Andrew Bergin and his wife Bernadette of Highland; two daughters- Cynthia Bergin of Albany; Linda Jamison and her husband Christopher of Duluth, GA; one brother- Michael Bergin of Scotia, NY; one sister- Ann Rayfield of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren- Daniel and Molly Bergin, Claire, Alexander, Samuel and Genevieve Jamison as well as several nieces and nephews

He was predeceased by his eight brothers and sisters, Donald, Francis, Margaret, Helen, Philip, Claire, Robert and Mary

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, 39 Orchard St., Walden, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory.
