Raymond Leinen Obituary

Raymond V. Leinen

Fishkill - Raymond V. Leinen, an area resident for 50 years, died on February 2, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He previously lived in Yonkers.

Born in Yonkers on August 31, 1938, Raymond was the son of the late Frederick and Romulda (Klencheski) Leinen. Raymond proudly served in the US Navy. He retired from the Yonkers Police Department after 25 years. He was a parishioner at St. Mary, Mother of the Church. He was a regular at the Fishkill Senior Center, and enjoyed playing cards, hunting, and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his big family, whom he was so proud and his friends at the Convenient.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Marie Carlucci on December 22, 2004, his daughter, Patricia Hicks in 2016 and his granddaughter, Olivia.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Lorraine Dimase; his children, Debbie Licurse and Danny MacLeay of Kent, CT, Lori Lennox of Poughkeepsie, Suzanne and John French of Fishkill, Steven and Tracy Lennox of Wappingers Falls, and Scott and Rachel Leinen of Walkill; his grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Jennifer, Michael, Paul, Joseph, Jesse, Rosemarie, Melissa, John, Anthony, Brittany, Zachary, Brendan, Haley, Steven, Matthew, Ryan, Annie, Elizabeth, and Katelyn; many great grandchildren; his siblings, Lorraine and Joseph McDonald and Peter Leinen; and his nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 - 7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY 12524. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with NYS guidelines, social distancing and face masks will be required. Since capacity may be limited, all attendees should be prepared for potential extended waiting periods.
