Stephen L. Brink

Hyde Park - Stephen L. Brink, 56, of Hyde Park died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born April 1, 1958 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late John R. Brink Sr. and Phyllis Robinson Brink Barrett. His mother survives in Poughkeepsie.

Stephen was a graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force.

He worked at the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation & Brain Injury in Lake Katrine. In his younger years, he drove a truck for Sun Wallpaper and Paint in Poughkeepsie, and also for Herzog's in Kingston.

An avid Elvis Presley fan, he was known for his Elvis impersonation during karaoke. Stephen loved the outdoors, fishing, and kayaking, He also enjoyed camping, especially at Lake George. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with with his friends and family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, John Brink Jr. and wife, Deborah, of Poughkeepsie; sister, Patricia Beaver of Poughkeepsie; sister, Tina Ulrich and husband, Robert, of Poughkeepsie; sister, Amy Curran and husband, Fred, of Hyde Park; brother, Jeffrey Brink of Poughkeepsie; aunts, Vivian DiPompei of Poughkeepsie; Miriam Douglas of Florida; and Faye Robinson of Texas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He is also survived by many special friends at work.

He was predeceased by his father, John R. Brink Sr.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

Calling hours are Friday, October 10, 2014 from 10 to 11 am at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.

A memorial service will follow at 11 am at the Funeral Home. Burial of his ashes will follow in the family plot in Union Cemetery of Hyde Park. Stephen's family respectfully requests memorial donations to The Foundation for Vassar Brothers Medical Center, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
