HIGHLAND - Violet May Mesnick, a lifelong resident, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at her home in Highland, NY at the age of 81, after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Domino and Marie Tabone. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on April 8, 1930.
Violet was the widow of Joseph Mesnick (1973) and lived most of her life in Chelsea, NY. She was a retired cerified nursing assistant from Morningside Manor Home, Fishkill, NY and McClelland Home for Adults, Chelsea, NY.
Violet is survived and deeply misssed by her loving family. Her three daughters, Linda Thoden and her husband William of Newburgh, NY, Marlene Trapani of Highland, and Joanne Kendall and her husband Robert of Wallkill, NY. Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Alex Baran and his wife Laura of Maybrook, NY, Stacey Barber and her husband Stephen of Saugerties, Cos Trapani and his wife Sarah of Highland, and Lauren Thoden of Newburgh, and her two great grandchildren, Isabella Trapani and Kira Baran.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law Cos Trapani.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 18, 2011 from 2-4 pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528.
Funeral service will be held Monday December 19, 2011 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon, NY.
