Marion and family - my thoughts and prayers to you during this very difficult and emotional time. I had the privilege to have worked with Walt at IBM and early on in my career there I was Walt's assistant. I can simply say that he was a "class act" and a wonderful human being who loved life and adored his family. May God's loving arms comfort you, and memories carry you through the days ahead.

Dear Marion, I seldom look at the obituaries in the Poughkeepsie Journal, but something told me to look yesterday. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. I worked with Walt in the late 80's, early 90's at the East Fishkill plant, building 300. He made every day fun...I'll always remember how he would sometimes get off to a bad start, and then go into his office, come out, and start the day all over again. He certainly had a wonderful philosophy about life and enjoyed expressing it to others. I know you will miss him dearly. I feel honored to have worked with him and to have spent time in his company.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire family: There's not enough space to fully describe what we will so miss about Walt. A long time and good friend indeed. We did see some words we thought appropriately reverent for him and, actually, everyone should read and remember this:

"Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant with the weak and wrong... because sometime in your life you will have been all of these."

Walt helped a lot of people.

Dear Marion, I truly wish I could be there at this time. You are truly blessed to have family and friends there for you. In 2 Corinthians 5, it says, "When we are absent with the body, we are at home with the Lord". Walter has gone home to be with the Lord and is at peace. God bless you and your family. You can call me anytime.
