Dianne Day Obituary

Dianne Lynn Day, 67, of Iowa City, passed away of a sudden illness on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
Dianne was born October 2, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Vernon and Naomi Skrivseth. Dianne believed that life is a dance full of twists and turns and fluid motions. She was always ready to try new things, take on new risks, and meet new people. She was an active leader and participant in numerous civic and social organizations simply too numerous to list. She enjoyed creating her wearable art, dancing the tango, playing pickleball, but most of all, she loved her time spent with her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by sons, Tim (Erin) and Brad (Michelle) Day; father, Vernon Skrivseth; sisters, Marilyn Skrivseth (Bill Barry) and Jan (Harvey) Walkoviak; brothers, Craig (Kathy) Skrivseth and Glen (Stephanie) Skrivseth; grandchildren, Logan, Lacie, Allie, Noah, and Michael Day; nieces, Bree Rice, Jenna Walkoviak, Laura and Jackie Skrivseth; nephews, Paul and Luke Skrivseth; and uncle, Milt Skrivseth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis and her mother, Naomi Skrivseth.
A celebration of Dianne's life will be held Sunday February 16, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Iowa City Senior Center. The family invites all of her friends to attend. A private burial service will be held in Washington, Iowa.
Memorial funds have been set up in Dianne's name to the Friends of the Iowa City Senior Center and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, people are encouraged to donate to either of these organizations or another charity of their choosing that helps make this world a better place for others, for that is how Dianne would want to be remembered.
