John Goodman Obituary
John Paul Goodman, Sr. 71 of Van Buren passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 in a local hospital. He was a retired local concrete finisher. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a past commander of the DAV Chapter 42 in Alma, as well as a member of both the Mulberry American Legion 0149 and the VFW Chapter 8845 in Fort Smith, and he was preceded in death by his parents Jess and Camilla (Lloyd) Goodman.
Funeral service will be 10AM, Friday August 6, 2021 at Ocker Memorial Chapel. Burial to follow with military honors at Morrison Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
He is survived by his wife Jullia of the home; one son John Paul Goodman, Jr. and his wife Courtney of Bella Vista; one daughter Jessica Lee Montoya of Van Buren; one sister Connie Lawrence of Oklahoma; one sister-n-law Mary Greminger of Kansas; one brother-n-law Harrel Smith of Jasper, Missouri; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Trout, Larry Smith, Monty Stallings, Jimmie Lamproe, Sr., Jimmie Lamproe, Jr. and Loran Smith.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4-6PM at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, 700 Jefferson Street.
