Formerly of Vestal, Endwell, and Kirkwood, NY, Alice Webster, 90, died peacefully on September 19, 2011. Beginning in 1985, she and her late husband David Webster traveled yearly between Kirkwood and Summerfield, FL, where they eventually established residency. In April of 2011, Alice moved to Sacramento, CA. Alice (Doremus) was born February 1, 1921 and spent her youth in Vestal, where she met and married David Webster of Tracy Creek. They lived and raised their children on Hooper Road in Endwell until 1966, when they purchased a mobile home park in Kirkwood. Their last home in Kirkwood was on Ostrum Road. Alice worked at IBM during WWII. After her second child was born, she went to work at GE in Westover and retired after 35 years. Alice was predeceased by her husband David in 2008. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tara Murphy of Fairfield, VT, Travis Webster of Maine, NY, Brandon Turnbull of Sacramento, CA; and five great-grandchildren. Alice and David spent many weekends, and most vacations in the Fifties and Sixties, traveling in their trailer. At home, Alice tended to her backyard garden. In 1966, David and Alice purchased a mobile home park which they owned and managed for 20 years. During this time they traveled on a limited basis. Also in 1966, Alice's mother came to live with them, and also traveled back and forth to Florida with them for 33 years. Alice is best remembered for her spirited personality and her love for both flowers and animals, especially cats and dogs. Visiting hours will begin Thursday at 2 p.m. at the VESTAL location of Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal. A Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m., followed immediately by burial at Vestal Park Cemetery.
