Nichols: You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide tho' we can not see you, you are always by our side… Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Charlotte L. Glasgow, 90, went to her heavenly home to be reunited with her husband, Billy, on Monday, February 27, 2012. Charlotte is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sally Jo (Ken) Manzer of Apalachin, Kippen Sue (John III) Stalma of Owego, Catherine (Kenneth) Westfall of Nichols, Nancy (Carl) Souder of N. Rome, PA, Jackie (Rich) O'Donnell of Owego; her special grandchildren, Becky-Lynn (Mat) Jackson, Michael S. Manzer, Billie Rae (Michael) Elliott, Lee (Patti) Westfall, Michelle (Andrew) Scardina, Rob (Melinda) Souder, Laura, Del and Angel Souder, Jeremy John (Deidre) Rapp, Lindsay Rapp; 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; special friends, Bob and Mary Baldwin; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Charlotte was predeceased by her husband, Billy Lee Glasgow; siblings, Olive (Clifford) Decker, Gladys (Dick) VanDeMark, Burton Jr. (Mary) Terpenning. Charlotte was born on February 8, 1922 in Newark Valley, a daughter of Burton and Catherine Terpenning. She was a graduate of Owego Apalachin School Class of 1940. On April 4, 1941, she married Billy Lee Glasgow and together they celebrated 45 years of marriage until his passing on September 18, 1986. Charlotte was a devoted member of the Nichols United Methodist Church where she a member of the UMW and served on the memorial fund committee. In addition, she was also a dedicated member of the Rebekah's, holding various local and state positions. Charlotte held many work positions throughout her life, but enjoyed her work with children most. Charlotte took great pleasure in tending to her flower gardens and enjoyed working at the Village Flower Shop. Her favorite job was that of wife, mother and homemaker. Many will remember Charlotte for her love of baking and cooking and how her home was a warm and welcoming place filled with family and friends. She believed in celebrating life as evidenced by her ability to make an event a special memory. Her beautiful church scene Christmas window became a tradition for families each holiday season. Charlotte had a heart of gold and loved to be surrounded by children. She will be remembered for her sparkle, joy of living, and ability to help others see the blessings of life in the little moments of each day. Her steadfast faith provided a strong foundation for the family and home she built. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and her community. Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation and time of sharing memories on Saturday, March 3rd, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Main St., Nichols. Funeral services and a celebration of a life well lived for Charlotte will follow at 2:00 with Pastor Dan Martin and Pastor Brown Naik officiating. A private service of internment will be held by the family in the Nichols Cemetery at a later date. To Charlotte's Family, I am Bonnie Bushnell, the granddaughter of Lena Bushnell, Uncle Burt's sister. I just got the news of Charlotte's passing. I've met her several times and had many pleasant conversations with her. Please accept my deepest sympathy to all of you.
