Everett Charles Sampson
of Harpursville
Everett Charles Sampson (February 17, 1928 to December 1, 2003) passed away on Monday, in Leesburg Regional Medical Center, Fla., following surgery. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Olivanne Sampson; and his sister, Emily Harrison. He is survived by Betty Lou (Nabinger) Sampson, his wife of 44 years; his children, Clifford W. Sampson II and wife Lisa; daughter, Betsey Sampson Drumm and husband Rick; his stepchildren, Charles Hubbard, Susanne Hubbard Kirk, Daniel Hubbard and wife Donna, Jack Hubbard and wife Tammy and Barry Hubbard; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his sister, Olive Clipp; four nieces, three nephews, and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Everett was a lifetime resident of the Harpursville area, graduated in 1945 from Harpursville Central High School, served in the USAF, the National Guard, the Army Reserves, retired from the Broome County Highway Department, a charter member of the Sons of American Legion (SAL), a lifetime member of the Harpursville American Legion Post 1596, a member of the Colesville Rotary, and a former Board of Director of Riverview Cemetery.
Funeral services will be held at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home, 69-71 Maple St., Harpursville, on Sunday at 1 p.m. Rev. Michael Rowe, Pastor of Harpursville Baptist Church, and Chaplain of Harpursville American Legion Post 1596, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Harpursville. The family will receive friends at the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
