G. Merlin Dann
of Nineveh
formerly of Greene, N.Y.
G. Merlin Dann, 76, of Nineveh, formerly of Greene, went to be with his Lord from Wayne, N.J., Thursday, April 29, 2004, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Willington and Virginia Dann. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mildred Dann, Nineveh; his children and their spouses, Jerrye and Martin Granger, Springfield, Va., Roger and Nancy Dann, Kinnelon, N.J., Marlin Dann, Garnerville, N.Y., Laurie and Michael Mero, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., eight grandchildren, Timothy Granger, Carrie Burr, Steven, Emily and Kevin Dann, Marie-Liz Dann, Melissa and Bryan Mero; two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kathryn Vollrath; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lorraine Dempsey, Johnson City, Linda and Bill Fitzhugh, Reisterstown, Md.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, LaVerne Dann, Marathon, N.Y., Dwayne and Lois Dann, Skaneateles, N.Y., Raymond and Margaret Dann, Pottersville, N.J.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Circle Drive Alliance Church, Sidney, N.Y., a retired IBM Corporation employee, retiring after 31 years of service., and a member of its Quarter Century Club. a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was an assessor for the Town of Colesville for 8 years, a charter member of the N.R.A. and an avid outdoorsman. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg, pastor of his church will officiate. Burial will be in Nineveh Cemetery, Nineveh, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the memorial home on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Expression of sympathy in Merlin's memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 131 Washington St., Binghamton, N.Y. 13901.
