of EndicottGary Ede, 67, of Endicott, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2006, after a long illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Catherine Ede; and brothers, David and Kevin. He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 45 years, Barbara (Donovan) Ede; his children, Kathy and Kevin Cunningham, Gary and Beth Ann Ede, Liz and Rick Vullo; his grandchildren, Colleen Cunningham and her fiancé, Larry Rozelle, Megan Cunningham, Rylie, Karly, Delaney, and Owen Vullo; and great-grandson, Tyler Cunningham. Gary is also survived by his sister, Linda and Robert Halter; brothers, Thomas and Dennis Ede; brothers and sisters-in-law, Peggy and Hugh Williams, Pat and Fay Donovan, Kathleen and Don Bouchard, Mickey and Laura Donovan, Shelia and Larry Davis, Ann Marie Folli; and several nieces and nephews. Dad's journey has been a difficult one over the past few years, yet he managed to smile and show great courage during his illness. His spirit and determination is something his family will never forget. Gary served in the Army and worked as a car salesman for over 30 years in the Binghamton area. He enjoyed sports, a good card game, a nice cold beer and most of all spending time with his family. He looked forward to his trips to Arizona and his daily visits from his grandkids and great-grandson. Gary's easygoing outlook on life gave him the nickname, "Easy." There was never a time when the phrase "Dad, what do you think?" could not be asked. He was always there to help. Dad, Pa, Pappy, Grandpa, and Mempa will be greatly missed. God Bless.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Union Volunteer Emergency Squad, 8 S. Avenue B., Endwell, N.Y. 13760. Arrangements are by the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott.
