Irene Galka (Seversky), age 87, died at the Oneida Healthcare Center in Oneida, New York on Sunday, June 14, 2015. Born, Irene Wokulich, on January 27, 1928 in Endicott, New York she lived most of her life in Endicott and later in California and Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was a self-employed cosmetologist and a former employee of IBM. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Seversky; her second husband, Paul Galka; and her sisters, Mary Kuzma, Helen Kurkowski, and Ann Lessler. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Paul M. Seversky of Canastota, New York; three grandchildren, Nathan Seversky and Kathleen of Oxford, Ct., Dr. Lee Seversky and Dr. Lauren Seversky of Oneida, NY, Michael Seversky and Kristen of Webster NY; two great-grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Wokulich of Binghamton, NY along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:30 am from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd. Endicott and at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm. The Rev. Peter Tomas will hold Parastas (Prayer Service) on Tuesday, 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church 106 North Rogers Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
