James Eckert Obituary
- - James R. Eckert, born February 23, 1956, passed away gently at his home on Friday, December 7, 2018 after a long illness. Predeceased by parents Frances and Bruce Eckert and father in law Robert Donovan, he is survived by his wife Tara, daughter Michelle (Dave), grandson Dylan, step children Shannon (Nick), Cara (John), Colin (Tara) and soon to be born second grandson. Also survived by a brother Bruce (Russ), sister Rosanne (Joe), sister Lynne, and mother in law Delores as well as in laws, nephews and nieces. His ashes will be spread at Thousand Islands, Outer banks NC, and down a ski slope in VT. Jim was adamant that there would be no fanfare or memorial when he left this earth and we will honor his wishes. In lieu of services pay forward an act of kindness in Jim's memory. He would ask for nothing more.

Jim ski'd with Rick and I during the good ol' days at Greek Peak. He would be part of our group of TCSC skiers gathering at the top of Chair 1 (prior to the quad being installed). There was always a lot of laughter, and Jim was in on it for sure. He's a kind and gentle soul, with a great sense of humor. May you ski free in fresh powder of the heavens!

Jim played ice hockey with me at Broome and we became very tight friends on and off the ice. Jim was one of the nicest guys you could meet and was always smiling and being a good person. Prayers to all of his family and friends for comfort. RIP Jim.

Lynne, Bruce, Rosanne and Family,
Saddened to hear of Jim's passing. My brother. Anthony was a good friend. I remember Paden Street kids were the best, very creative with our fun. I saw Jimmy at a wedding about 10 years ago and it was wonderful talking to him. My deepest sympathy to the family.

So very sorry and saddened to hear this. I grew up right next door to Jim. Although I hung out with Bruce and Lynne, I remember Jimmy being an adorable, sweet little boy who was friends with my younger brother Anthony. Rest In Peace Jimmy. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Jim was a great guy and we grew up together on Paden St. . I spent our youth camping out in his back yard, pole vaulting in the back of Benner's Wholesale and playing hockey on the ponds at EnJoie golf course. We had such fun!! Rip Jim from the Paden street kids.
