James L. Olin
of Montrose, Pa.
James L. He was born in Montrose, Pa., to the late Russell L. and Elsie (Darrow) Olin. His wife of nearly 62 years, Margaret (Bolles) "Peg" Olin, survives. His first great-granddaughter will be born in May. Jim was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Europe and Africa, then a Barber in Montrose from 1945 to 2006. He was Past Post Commander of VFW Ayres-Stone Post 5642, Montrose, Pa., and a member of the Elk Lake Community Church. He loved gardening, fishing, and traveling. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; he enjoyed spending time with his family through many trips and get-togethers. His family was the joy of his life, and they loved him dearly. His family had great admiration and respect for him.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Olin family. He was a fine, interesting man. I happened by chance to his shop about five years ago, and was so pleased, I drove the twenty miles to Montrose until the shop closed. He is, and will be, missed.
