JoAnn Hoag

JoAnn Hoag, 63, went to be with her Lord, and with her son, Michael Stone, on Monday, March 8, 2004, at her home. She was also predeceased by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Red and Bulah Brown. She is survived by her husband, Robert Hoag, Greene; children, Lynda and Jon Davis, Vestal, Donna and Mike Slojkowski, Orchard Park, Robert Hoag Jr., Greene, Tanya and Kim Fazio, Greene, Randy and Nina Hoag, Canton, Ohio, Vicky and Michael Crowley, Vernon, Vt., Melissa and Jim Burnett, Greene; grandchildren, Tyler and Zachary Davis, Teri Slojkowski, Leslie, Ashley and Jordan Fazio, Matt, Jocelyn and Curtis Hoag, Tim and Jamie Lynn Crowley, Amanda and James Burnett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Patricia Hoag, Loganville, Ga.; "sister", Christine Cooper, Greene; and many special friends. JoAnn owned and operated the Greene Department Store and she also worked for many years at local Greene banks. She was an active member of Zion Episcopal Church, where she was on the Altar Guild for years and was currently serving as director. JoAnn had a passion for reading and collecting elephants. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.
Funeral and committal services will he held 11 a.m. Friday, at Zion Episcopal Church, Greene. The Very Reverend Ralph E. Osborne, Rector, will officiate. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene, in the spring. Friends of the family may call Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Episcopal Church, Mary Blodgett Unit, 10 North Chenango Street, Greene, N.Y. 13778.
