Joyce Harrison Obituary
Endwell: Joyce E. Eldred Harrison, 71 of Endwell
died Monday March 4, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. She was predeceased by her parents Paul and Helen Eldred. She is survived by her children, William and Colleen Harrison, Endwell, Sheri and James Abbott, Binghamton, Brenda and Paul Higgins, Endwell; her grandchildren, Lauren, Will, Gavin, Allyson, Gabrielle, Chloe, Audrey; her aunt Thelma Lewis; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Joyce retired after over 35 years of employment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. The family wishes to thank the staff of Strong Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and concern for Joyce and her family. Funeral Services will be held at the J.A.McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton Friday at 10 a.m. Reverend David C. Seaver will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Thursday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Joyce may be made to the Humane Society, 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903.

Although I only recently met Joyce, she made a very strong impact on me. I looked forward to getting to spend time with her every day. She was a very strong woman and remained positive and joyful throughout everything. I am deeply saddened by her loss and think of her every day. Praying for you and your family.

I was so shocked to find of Joyce's passing in todays paper. I am lost for words right now. I had no idea she had not been well. My deepest sympathy to you all during this time. My heart goes out to you all. She will be missed by so many. She was a great landlord of mine and a good friend....it was like having my grand mother down stairs. I loved to visit her and Teddy and Sadie often. Rest in peace Joyce. I will miss you.

Dear Sheri, Bill and Brenda-
I have such sweet memories of your Mom. I remember many a slumber parties in the basement at your Mom's house in Endwell many many moons ago and your Mom putting up with our noise all night while we peeled with laughter as we made Sheri put both feet behind her head at the same time.....but I digress. Your Mom fed us and talked and ate with us in the kitchen and made us feel like grown ups. She was a "cool" Mom who ended up befriending my own Mom and she holds a special place in my heart. She was such a dear sweet lady who did one hell of a job raising 3 kids alone. I am honored to have known her and send my deepest sympathies for this horrible loss.
Be strong and talk about her constantly! :)
