Kristin Doris Obituary
Kristin Ann Doris, ("DORIS", as she was known to many) 36, of Apalachin, passed away peacefully at her home after a hard fought battle with cancer on Wednesday October 14, 2015. She has now joined her Dad, Dennis P. Doris, and all of her grandparents in heaven. Kristin is survived by her 3 beautiful children, Maggie Huizinga, 11, Anna Huizinga, 9 and Timothy Huizinga, 6. As well as, Rob Abell, her boyfriend and love of her life and his children Malachi, 11 and Elise, 9; her mother, Josephine Doris; her brother, Michael Doris and Genevieve; her nephews, Jacob Millard and Dennis Michael Doris; her brother, Dennis Robert Doris; sister-in law, Molly; nephew, Nicholas Doris; and niece, Maryann Doris. All of Apalachin, NY. She has also left many aunts, uncles, cousins and so many friends. Kristin is also survived by her 2nd set of parents, David and Anna Strano and their sons, her other brothers, Sal, Bill and Mark Strano. She was an amazing mother, loving and supportive daughter and sister. Life will never be the same for us without her. Kristin was caring, loving, a good friend and she was strong, determined and a hard worker. She would decide her goals and work tirelessly and fight hard to achieve them. Kristin loved sports and was a fierce competitor. She spent most of her childhood and teen years playing a game she loved with the people she loved - softball. She was a pitcher for OFA High School in Owego, NY, the ASA Apalachin Patriots and STTP Ponies before ending her softball career at Division I St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. For Kristin, life was all about family. Most weekends you would find her with one of her brothers (usually both) and everyone's children running and playing with lots of happy noise. She loved to laugh and enjoy life and make all kinds of memories to fill the "memory bucket" as she called it, for her children, her brothers, family, loved ones and friends. Services will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, on Rte 434 in Apalachin NY. Calling hours will be on Monday October 19, from 4 - 7 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday October 20 at 10am. There will be a private family burial at Riverside Cemetery on Marshland Rd, Apalachin immediately following the service. A trust fund has been set up for Kristin's children c/o of Visions Federal Credit Union 26 Day Hollow Rd, Owego, NY 13827.

To the entire Doris family, While not having known her, I went to school with her dad, aunt and uncle (Ann and Jim) at Chenango Forks. I send sympathy, prayers and love. Doris/Strano families, Saddened to hear of the passing of Kristin . I knew her when she was a young softball player while I was coaching. She was always a mentor to the younger girls and they all wanted to pitch like Kristin. God bless .
