of Susquehanna, Pa.
Mary Marie Ryder, 83, of Turnpike Terrace Apartments, Susquehanna, Pa., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Barnes-Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna, Pa., after an illness. She was born in Binghamton, N.Y. on January 30, 1925 to the late Raymond and Irene (Clendenning) Bryant. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Sanford (Mike) Ryder; daughter, Sandra Ryder; and granddaughter, Theresa Marie Ryder. She is survived by her sons, Ray and Mary Ryder, Carbondale, Pa., Michael and Mary Jane Ryder, Oakland, Pa.; her daughters, Kathy and Ernie Nichols, Mansfield, Ga., and Patti and Ron Harting, Windsor, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Lori and Heather Ryder, Michael and Rhonda Ryder, Lonnie, Nina, Earnest, David, Mary and Kim Nichols, Tony and Brandon Stark, Ben and Missy, Tim and Trisha and Victoria Harting; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lenora Campman, Glide, Oreg., Beverly Smith, Bull Head City, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Martha Goodfellow, Windsor, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Richard Ryder, New Milford, Pa.; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends, including her Bible study group. Mary retired from the Susquehanna Community School District after working many years in the cafeteria. She was an active member in the Lanesboro Community Church for 50 years. She loved to crochet, watch NASCAR and read the Bible. Anyone that was fortunate enough to know her knew she loved to talk, play music and drive fast. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom will all miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends at the Hennessey's Funeral Home, 747 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, Pa., on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m., with the memorial service immediately following with the Rev. Carl Batzel officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Susquehanna Fire Company, PO Box 175, Susquehanna, Pa. 18847.

To the Ryder Family;
We were so saddened to learn of Mary's passing. I have many fond memories of joking with her..first in the school cafeteria along with Marie Saam and so many others and later
when we'd meet in town. She always had a smile for all..no matter what was on her mind or in her heart.
Please know our thoughts and Prayers are with you at this very difficult time. May fond memories
help you through the "gray days".
Sending a special hug to Kathy.
