Michael Birchard Obituary
November 29, 1960 - April 22, 2016: Michael Anthony "Birch" Birchard, 55 of Knightdale, NC, formerly of Endicott, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2016. He is predeceased by his grandmother, Mary P. Ciacelli. A native of Endicott, NY, he is survived by his parents, Gene and Rose Birchard; his two brothers, Rick (Cathy) and Tony Birchard; his wife, Debbie Birchard of 31 years; and his two daughters, Christin and Alyssa. He was a 1978 graduate of Union Endicott High School. Michael was a loving and selfless son, brother, husband, and father. He learned from his mother the art and love of Italian cooking and enjoyed feeding his friends and family. Michael's favorite place to be with his wife and daughters was eating lobster and clam cakes in Rhode Island. He was most proud of his two daughters, Christin and Alyssa and all they have become. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.

I just heard about Mike's passing today. I had the opportunity to work with Mike at IBM and then reconnected with him last fall at a work conference. Mike will be deeply missed. He had such a pleasant personality.

I worked with Mike since he first started at what was then Enwisen. I've been waiting to post hoping that words would somehow come more easily --- they haven't and I remained stunned. I can only imagine the feelings being experienced and shared among his family and friends. I always had a nick name for Mike, it was actually a nickname he gave himself. Flex Mike or FM, it was always because no matter what was going on he was so cool, calm and collected he was so flexible never let the work get to him. This was something I admired about him. I will also miss our conversations over our plans for PTO (shoreline or trips to see his daughters at college for him and concerts and camping trips with my family for me). Earlier this month I was thinking how I needed to get a hold of Mike since concert season is coming up....it was always a good way for us to catch up. Of the things we would discuss we also at times would discuss our shared Catholic faith. On the day that I learned of Mike's passing I could only find comfort in the song On Eagle's Wings. I imagine Mike now being held in the palm of His hand and shining like the sun. May you all find comfort, peace and strength going forward.

Michele and I were so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. While the time between our visits got longer, Mike was always right there and able to pick up where we left off. His speedies were a special treat for us and we always looked forward to the Memorial Day picnic and Christmas get togehers that Mike and Debbie hosted. Even I (with a name like Swigunski) was smart enough not to eat anything before I got there! Each time we left always stuffed with great food and so grateful for our friendship when we were the last ones out the door.
Our deepest sympathies and condolences are extended to your entire family. Mike was a great guy who will be missed by the many people he came in contact with over his lifetime.

Dear Debbie, Alyssa, and Christina,
I had the pleasure of working with Mike for the past five years at Enwisen/Lawson/Infor. Through all of the work and acquisitions and change Mike has always been a strong level headed leader who I could always share a laugh with!
He adored his family and treasured every moment with all of you. Mike was a proud husband and father.

What heart breaking news, Mike or Mikey as we often called him was a very special person. Before I retired we used to meet once a month for lunch at Roma's on Harrison Blvd. No conversation took place with Mike without food coming up one way or another. I will miss him greatly. Although I only got a chance to work with him for a short period of time, it's apparent what a lasting positive impact he had on the entire Infor team. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Mike. His positive outlook and passion was refreshing and amazing. His influence was far reaching (even all the way down here to Texas, and to our team on the east coast and California - and everywhere in between).
Of course his love of Phil & Uncle Si Robertson, and all the "Duck Dynasty" clan was the topic of many conversations he and I had.
