Nicholas Pascucci Obituary

Nicholas Pascucci
of Woodgate, NY
Nicholas Pascucci slipped away peacefully at his home in Woodgate, NY with his family by his side on February 1, 2010. He was born in Binghamton on September 16, 1929, the eldest son of Nicholas and Julia (Budovic) Pascucci. Nick graduated from Binghamton North High School and attended Union College in Albany. He worked for many years as a highway engineer for the State of New York, and as a construction manager before starting his own concrete business. He retired from NYS Office of General Services in 1994. Nick was a creative person who loved working with his hands whether he was building a birdhouse or a cottage in the woods. A slow, steady, meticulous craftsman, Nick enjoyed improving his home with innovative renovations. He often found great pleasure working outdoors, but his passions were sailing and skiing. When resting from these activities, Nick closely monitored Fox News and the stock market. Nick's insatiable curiosity made him a font of information and wisdom to family and friends. He was a true believer in the Founding Fathers' idea of the Constitution and cherished the opportunity to debate and discuss the topic whenever someone would dare. Nicholas leaves his beloved wife, Sandy (Hoffman), whom he married October 12, 1991. Nick is survived by his children with Nancy Pascucci Yale: Richard Fahey of Poughkeepsie, NY, Catherine Abbott of Hyde Park, NY, Joseph (and Denise) Fahey of Gardnerville, NV; and his children with Sharon Pascucci Farrentino: Douglas Pascucci, Nicola (and Michael) Arnoux of Tampa, FL, Patrick Pascucci (Julissa) of Atlanta, GA; and his stepdaughter, Trista (and Chad) Richardson of Boonville, NY; grandchildren, Jeffrey (and Bianca) Abbott of Winchester, CA, Jon Abbott of Hyde Park, Blair Fahey and Ian Scheer of Poughkeepsie, NY, Blair Massengill of Orlando, FL, Devin, Jacob and William Richardson of Boonville, NY; and great-grandson, Hudson Abbott of Winchester, CA; his brothers, Philip Pascucci and Daniel (Marge) Pascucci of Binghamton, NY; sister, Jeannette Gamble of California. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia; and a brother, James. In addition, he leaves several nieces and nephews. Our special and heartfelt thanks to Geri Larkin, Bonnie and Tom Panara, and Beth and Nick Lykling for all their loving care during his final illness.
