Raymond Severa Obituary
Raymond Severa III, age 69, of Sierra Vista, AZ, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Lupe; sister Nadene Linn (Roger); daughters Christie Baird (Sam) and Lori Kancal; sons Raymond Sevara IV and Mark Sevara; niece Haley Lux (Brian); nephew Kevin Knox; several grandchildren and his furry-friend, Sandy. He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Sevara. Ray graduated from BCC. He spent many years at assignments across the globe, while serving our nation as a Communications Specialist in the US Army. He retired from the Army after 30 years of service and remained in Arizona, near Fort Huachuca. After this, he worked at the Army Medical Health Center on base, until his death. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 21st, at the Hatfield Funeral Home in Sierra Vista, AZ, with interment following at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, www.wwphighcap.org.

My sincere condolences to Ray's family and friends. Although we didn't know each other due to time and distance, a large and loving family must have given him great peace in his last days. God Bless Ray who has been called home to be with our Lord, and, peace and comfort to his family who are secure in the knowledge that he suffers no longer.

My Sympathy to the entire Severa family. May you find peace and comfort in all your memories of Ray's life.
Ray and I were very good friends growing up, and attending Chenango Valley High School. I lost track of Ray after graduation and hoped that he might join us for our 50th. class reunion in 2011. I was disappointed he couldn't make it.
