Steven Murry Benjamin
of East Syracuse
Steven Murry Benjamin passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2007 at his home. He was born on November 10, 1962 in Norwich, the son of Kenneth Benjamin and Barbara Hoag Benjamin George. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Kenneth and Sharon Benjamin, Sr., Oxford; his mother, Barbara George, Binghamton; his daughter, Chelsea Rae Benjamin, Tiverton, R.I.; his brothers, Kenneth and Lana Benjamin, Jr., Oxford, Jonathan Benjamin, Oxford, Michael and Lori Benjamin, Hurley, N.Y., David Benjamin, Long Beach, Calif., and Christopher and Rachael Benjamin, Seaford, Del.; his sister, Merri and Michael Hayes, Vestal; his stepsisters, Cindy Christian, Superior, Wis., and Sandra Christian, New York, N.Y.; and his grandfather, Robert Beardsley, Norwich. He was predeceased by his sister, Mishell Benjamin. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Steve was a faithful employee of the Town of Manlius for 13 years. He was a loving father and helpful neighbor. Before his illness he enjoyed working out in the gym and taking care of his home and yard.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 12, 2007, at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, with the Rev. Allen C. Lang, Pastor of the United Church of Oxford, officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Oxford. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
