William Nolis Obituary
St. Louis, MO: William M. (Bill) Nolis, born March 6, 1929, died October 11, 2012 in St. Louis after a career at IBM in Endicott. Survived by his four children and their families, nieces, nephews and numerous friends whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to projectaware.org. Burial will be at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, PA, Nov. 9, 2012 at 10:00AM.

My mother told stories full of joy and adventure about her two beloved younger brothers Bill and Bob. I remember most clearly how Uncle Bill and my mother picked blueberries in the Scranton hills, among the laurel bushes and rattlesnakes, and sold them door-to-door to contribute to the family income during the Great Depression. She had bragged the she and Bill, even as children, earned the day wages of a Scranton factory worker at the time. I will hold dear in my heart memories of visits in our families, where Uncle Bill, beaming with joy, would bring home a bushel of clams for steaming, and a
'tomato pie'. Long ago and far away, these memories still light up my life. Thank you Uncle Bill for all you gave to this world. A special thanks to Steve and Melinda for their closeness and dedication to our dear and gentle Uncle Bill.

The best way to describe Bill is what Steve always said, "Bill is a GEM!" And a rare one at that! We miss you Bill but know that you are in a better place! Until we meet again!

Solong Dear Uncle Bill,
It seems you would appear through different stages in my life, childhood, teens, motherhood and through the sad times of loss. Each and every time you left an impact on me of a very kind and gentle heart that resembled my very own Dearest Dad. I can say that you were two of a kind. Solong, Till we meet again.

I truly miss my uncle Bill. He was a great man and the last of his generation. I feel fortunate to have been able spend a little time with him recently. I am very thankful for Steve and Melinda who took such great care of him the last few years.
