Alice BECKER Obituary

Eva Alice Mary Epidendio Becker, age 90, died at her home in Windsor, California on October 16, 2013. "Alice" was born at Ross Hospital in Marin County on May 22, 1923. She liked to tell how her oldest brother Charlie had the privilege of naming her and chose Eva because that was his girlfriend's name. Alice's parents, Pietro Epidendio and Luigia "Mary" Margivio, both immigrated to California from the Liguria region of Italy in the early 1900s. Alice was raised on the Epidendio Ranch in Larkspur, California, attended Larkspur-Corte Madera School, and graduated from Tamalpais High School. Growing up with four brothers, Alice described herself as a "tomboy." She enjoyed participating in many sports but tennis was her passion. She proudly displayed her collection of trophies wherever she lived. On July 25, 1944, Alice married Walter Becker in Tucson, Arizona where he was stationed in the military. They had two children, Richard Walter born in 1946 and Mary Theresa in 1955. Alice is survived by her daughter, Terri Becker of Modesto, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Pete (1952), mother Mary (1954), husband Walter (2009), son Richard (1994), and brothers Charles (1961), Richard (1997), Ernest (2000) and William (2000). Alice will be laid to rest with husband Walter and son Richard at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael, California. Interment will be private. A celebration of Alice's life will be held at a later date.
