Barbara Bardella

1938 - 2025

Barbara Margaret (Nelson) Bardella passed October 5th, 2025, at the age of 86. She will be remembered by her children: Elizabeth (Jeff), Matthew (Tara), and Vanessa, her grandchildren: Ashley (Joe), Brittany (Dustin), Andie (Vincent), Lexi (Tom), and Travis, her great grandchildren: Maysin, Lane, Nick, Presley and Cody. Born in 1938 in San Francisco, she met her husband Gianfranco on the city bus on the way to an event for immigrants to meet local kids their age. Gianfranco, who had just arrived from Italy, was attending the event and Barbara was a volunteer and they were inseparable from that day forward. They married in 1958 and started their tax preparation business that same year. In 1971 they decided to leave the city life behind and relocated both their home and business to Sebastopol where they resided ever since. Barbara was a highly intelligent, driven, hard working women and she poured that thoroughness into every aspect of her life. She was active in her local Bonsai clubs, hosting their meetings in the bonsai barn in her backyard. She was the president of the North Bay Enrolled Agents for many years, constantly educating herself on the ever-evolving tax laws. She was an avid reader and her local bookstores best customer. She thrived on keeping her mind sharp and worked in her tax office until her battle with cancer didn't allow her anymore. She is going to be greatly missed by her family, friends and her clients who became her friends. Funeral mass, followed by a celebration of life, will be held at St. Sebastian's Church on November 8th at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
