Benjamin Moore Obituary

MOORE III, Benjamin F. Passed away Saturday June 17, 2006. Age 72. Born March 13, 1934 in Ft. Bragg, CA, Ben spent the last 22 years in Sonoma County. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Shirley Moore of Petaluma, cherished son, Michael Moore and his wife Cynthia of Sonoma and his brother, Edward Moore and his wife Michele of Ft. Bragg. His daughter, Kathleen Ann Moore, predeceased him. Ben is remembered fondly as a family man, a great husband and father who was always there for his children, involved in all that they did. He had a great imagination that worked its way into the stories he wrote. Ben enjoyed reading and digging deep into the family history. Ben retired after 32 years with Wells Fargo Bank as an auditor and devoted much of his spare time to his passion for building and operating his railroad. He and Shirley operated the POSSUM HILL & BAER STEIN RAILROAD, and the DANDELION & RAGWEED GARDEN RAILROAD at their home. The family invites all to Celebrate Ben's Life with them Saturday, July 1, 2006, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the family home, 1916 Caulfield Ln., Petaluma. Private interment at Santa Rosa Memorial Park. Donations in Ben's memory may be made to Petaluma Hospice, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. Arrangements under the care of SANTA ROSA MEMORIAL MORTUARY EGGEN & LANCE CHAPEL, 707-542-3154.

Keith and I wish to express our deep sympathy to Ben's family. Ben and I spent many childhood years in each other's company as our parents were best friends. As I grew up, Ben acted as a big brother to me and I have many good memories of those times. I am deeply saddened by his death, it came much too soon.

Most Sincerely,
