Christopher LOTHROP Obituary

LOTHROP, Christopher Emory Of Santa Rosa, left us on February 11, 2018. He was 75 years old. Chris is survived by his three children, Lauri Ann Genesio of Santa Fe, NM, Mark Russell Genesio of South Portland, ME, and Kristen Erica Dixit of Youngville, LA. He also leaves behind his brother, Tom Lothrop of Beechgrove, IN, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 11 step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Gillian Lothrop; his sister, Christina Buretta; his brother, Arthur Lothrop; three step-sons; and one step-grandchild. Chris was born on May 18, 1942 in Portland, ME to Arthur and Amy Lothrop. Following graduation from the Bridgton High School, Chris joined the US Marine Corps, serving honorably for seven years including two tours in Viet Nam. After being discharged from the Marines on the West Coast, he returned to New England before moving to Colorado in 1975. In the late 1980s, he and Gillian moved to Sonoma County and then settled for over a decade in Anchor Bay until 2013 when they moved to Santa Rosa. Chris passed away after a short battle with cancer. He will be remembered as succinct in speech, big in heart, a lover of abalone hunting, and proud owner of beautiful collies. He was devoted to his late wife Gillian whose passing in May left a huge hole in Chris' life. Chris' and Jill's ashes will be interred in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, OR.

I am so very sorry about Chris's passing. He and Gill were such good friends and neighbors up here in Anchor Bay. He stopped by our place at least every other day just to say hi. He and Gill are together again and both missed and in my heart always. Rest in Peace Chris and Gill!!!!
