Gregg THATCHER Obituary

After an eight month battle with renal cancer, Gregg passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 16th. Gregg was born on July 26, 1956 in Denver, Colorado, where he resided until moving to Sonoma County in 1979. He worked as a carpenter and general contractor for 36 years. Gregg was an excellent gardener and loved spending time in his yard. He had a creative mind and could build, fix, or grow just about anything. An avid sports fan particularly loyal to "his" Niners and Giants, he impressed many with his snow skiing in the Rockies and enjoyed time boating on Ruth Lake. Gregg is survived by his wife, Connie, and was especially proud of the legacy he left with his son, Brett, and daughter, Alyssa, all of Windsor. He is also survived by his mother, Wilma, brother, Gary, and half-brother, Grant, all of Colorado; as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bud. Gregg will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and kitty, Jynx. A celebration of life will be held in Gregg's garden at a later date.

Con, my heart goes out to you and the family. You have been so courageous and strong. To use one of Gregg's phrases, you are "truly amazing". If there is anything I can do, please let me know - I'm just a text away....

My husband, Duey, and I were friends with Connie and Gregg years ago when our kids were younger and we had great vacations and good times with them. Gregg will surely be missed and we are so sorry we did not get to say Goodbye! Sincerely, Julie, Duane and Jake Carlson
