Josephine Chapple Obituary

CHAPPLE, Josephine Angela - Passed on February 4, 2007 with her daughter Bernie and son-and-law Mark by her side. Born on November 1, 1909 on the family farm in Bartonville, Ontario, Canada, Josephine married Clifford Chapple on her 21st birthday. The couple moved to the state of Illinois during the midst of the Great Depression; 21 years later they moved to Santa Rosa, CA where their daughter was born in 1953. In addition to caring for her husband and daughter, Josephine was for many years the administrative assistant at the Social Security Administration office in Santa Rosa. Josephine and Clifford were married for 66 years. After Clifford's passing, Josephine moved to San Ramon, CA, where she took great pride in serving as President of the Residents Council at Merrill Gardens. She particularly loved horse racing, gardening and taking care of her family. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, and four nephews, Gerald Smith, Ronald Stevens, Joseph Connors and Patrick Connors. She will be greatly missed. Per her request, no formal services will be held. Donations in her memory may be made to Canine Companions for Independence, P.O. Box 446, Santa Rosa, CA 95402.
