Louis Moraes Obituary

MORAES, Louis W. Born July 6, 1923, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the age of 80. He was married to his loving bride Grace for 55 years. Louis was the son of the late Manuel L. and Mary C. Moraes. He is survived by his sister Dorothy Williams of Mill Valley and his sister-in-law Dorothy Silva of Mill Valley and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Arthur and sisters Hazel and Tessie, sister-in-law Georgianna Silva, brothers-in-law John and Manuel Silva. Louie served in the US Navy for 4 years aboard the USS Los Angeles and the USS Benson. He was a self employed general contractor for 50 years. He was a member of several organizations including being the current president of I.D.E.S.S.T., of Sausalito and current president of Sea Point Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West of Sausalito, past president of the Assoc. Redwood Empire, N.S.G.W., he was actively involved in the following organizations, V.F.W., #7816 of Novato, I.C.F. St. James, Br. #161 of Larkspur, Druids of Novato, I.D.E.S. and the U.P.E.C. of Novato, American Legion #0313 of Larkspur, and the SIRS Br. #22 and several Portuguese Holy Ghost lodges. Family and friends may call for Visitation Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at RUSSELL & GOOCH FUNERAL CHAPEL, Mill Valley and Monday after 5:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Loretto Church, Novato, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Entombment Valley Memorial Park, Novato. The family prefers Spiritual Bouquets, or contributions to the Sea Point Parlor Cleft Pallet Fund, or to your favorite charity.
