Richard P. Cafferata, 90, passed away peacefully at his residence with his son by his side on August 2, 2025, in Healdsburg, CA.
Richard was born November 23, 1934 and raised in San Francisco, CA. Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce, and parents, Mario and Doris Cafferata. He is survived by his children, Rick Cafferata and Tina Vela. Grandchildren, Kia Brooks and Kyle, Karly Cafferata, Isabella Cafferata, Vincent and Daniel Vela and sister JoAnn Ferrera-Piantanida. Along with sister in laws, brother in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
On April 15, 1956, Richard and Joyce married and were lifelong partners for 65 years. Lived in Germany for 2 years returned to San Francisco, CA then in 1995 moved to Healdsburg, Ca. Richard retired from the Teamsters after 40 yrs. Then worked for Redwood Empire Vineyard Mgt for another 10 yrs. Richard had a passion for hunting, belonged to the Duck and Deer clubs. He fulfilled his last hunting trip 2024 at 89. Richard enjoyed planting his vegetable garden, cooking Italian dishes, social events, entertaining, dancing, travel and cruises. He was a Classic Hot Rod enthusiast, entering his 1941 Ford Coupe. Never knew a man who had so many friends, from ages 18 to 90. We will miss him deeply, but find comfort in all our great memories of him. Richard Cafferata will never be forgotten. 5252 Roy - MA!!
